AWS re:Invent is the most transformative event in cloud computing and it is starting on November 28, 2022. AWS Compute team has many exciting sessions planned for all attendees covering everything from foundational content, to technology deep dives, customer stories, and even hands on workshops. As a Northern Irish AWS partner we can't wait to expand our network and meet other global partners. For 10 years, the global cloud community has come together at re:Invent to meet, get inspired, and rethink what's possible. This will be our first year attending the most comprehensive, and most vibrant event in cloud computing.
Ahead of attending the week long event, we wanted to breakdown what to expect from keynotes, the different session types and how attendees can get the most out of this experience.
Monday, Nov. 28.
The first keynote is Peter DeSantis, senior vice president of AWS Utility Computing and Apps. He will talk about AWS' continuation to innovate without sacrificing performance. ENGIE and Lyell talk about their experience with AWS.
Tuesday, Nov. 29.
AWS CEO Adam Selipsky will speak on how AWS products help customers succeed. Jock Clear, senior performance engineer for Ferrari, shares his experiences.
Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Amazon Machine Learning, will reveal AWS' latest database, analytics and machine learning technologies, as well as how customers can future-proof their data strategy. Expedia and AstraZeneca share their stories.
In a second keynote later in the day, Ruba Borno, vice president of AWS Worldwide Channels and Alliances, is giving the AWS Partner Keynote. Attendees will hear from partners and customers, including Schuberg Philis, IBM, Inter, Bitstamp and Nasdaq.
Thursday, Nov. 1.
Amazon.com CTO Werner Vogels is the last keynote speaker of the conference. He will take the stage to delve into the technical details of AWS and share his thoughts on resilient architectures. Also, Trustpilot will talk about its work with the platform.
There are various types of sessions, the main two being leadership and breakout sessions. This mixture allows important industry knowledge to be shared and followed up in a more streamlined way, allowing niche industry to focus on their strengths.
Leadership sessions. These sessions are given by AWS executives and explore recent product developments and roadmaps. They cover various subjects, including storage, cloud operations, containers and IoT.
Breakout sessions. In these one-hour sessions, AWS experts, users and partners will cover a range of cloud computing topics. There are over 2,000 sessions to choose from, spanning over 50 different content tracks. Sessions are available for new, intermediate and advanced AWS users.
For a more focused experience, you can choose to follow different tracks. The main topics below are also divided into more detailed tracks for those who want to dive deeper into a narrower subject.
For those who want a more hands-on experience, there is a variety of options to take the knowledge being shared by industry experts and put it into practice throughout the week.
Workshops. These run for two hours. Attendees collaborate in small groups to work through different scenarios using AWS products. Remember to bring your laptop.
Chalk talks. Chalk talks typically have small audiences and are more interactive than breakouts. AWS will conduct hundreds of these sessions, in which a main speaker and additional experts lead a technical discussion and whiteboarding sessions related to real-world IT challenges.
Builders' sessions. These sessions host up to nine attendees, who sit down with an AWS expert to work in real time on a specific technical project.
We can't wait to get involved in the weeks activities and expand our AWS partner network outside of Northern Ireland. If you would like to catch up with us to discuss any of our service packages or company synergy contact us now and let's schedule a meeting during the week.
